I once had a rabbit-fur muff, which was lovely and warm, back in the day when no one thought about fur.

Re: Celtic Ladies episode 2 - Winter
Muffler! thats it! (Mabel, moff in Dutch? i remember my mam saying that) i couldn't for the life of me think of the word; i had one too when i was little, a white one on a string round me neck (haha that doesn't sound healthy do it hahaha...), no idea what happened to it. Rose? i don't like my brother either
The lettering is done, and half of the rows of the top border; i had to stop early last night cos it was gym night with my daughter. She'll definately be finished today though.

Yes Steph, it is mof (one f) -- an unfortunate name as that was also the Dutch uncomplimentary nickname for the Germans during the war, so it's difficult to refer to the item now by its proper name without sounding offensive.

Re: Celtic Ladies episode 2 - Winter
Thanks everyone for your comments
i picked this shade of fabric cos the yellowy bits made me think of a watery winter sun, which sounds a bit far away and misty for me dunnit (i went a bit Crystaltips & Alisdair there didn't i...showing my age, aquarius psychedelic an' all that cosmic caper ) But anyways its not easy picking fabrics to do these ladies on, i wanted them to match each other and the fabric to match each individual lady/season at the same time. Thats why its took 2 years to get round to starting them, i just couldn't think what colour fabric to do them on, i thought to do them all on the same colour - green, beige or whatever - which would suit some of them and not the others (if you get me jist). And, they all have to match the mauve wall they'll eventually hang on.
