So, I bought one of these thinking it'd really help me out with my willow tree project (36 colours) - but when I tried using it, I found that I *really* don't get on with it.
So, would anyone else like to give it a try? I've not got the box any more, but I have got the 10 cards that came with it, and only one is written/drawn on. I'd like to trade for some fabric or threads (either DMC or Anchor).

Seems that way to me; I bought this having read some fantastically enthusiastic reviews about it, I just found that I really tangled my threads up. Any I'm so used to rethreading my needle now it doesn't really bother me!

I'd love some evenweave fabric, it seems like I've got lots of aida but almost no evenweave - and I really like using it. As to count, colour, amount etc I'll leave that to your discretion

Not so! I love mine. I work on big projects by choice most of the time, and I have found this organizer to be so absolutely useful. Don't know how I'd manage now without it. OK, you have to bulk buy needles, I guess, but that's a small price to pay in terms of the time spent threading and rethreading. And it should come with a whole pack of the paper inserts so you can change the insert as you change from one project to another.
I actually have two of these and love them!!! I've had one of them for a few years. It definitely keeps me sane when doing the fractal with 78 colors. After DH finished the little mermaid xs for our daughter and started on the horses, he asked if I could get a pako for him because he thought it might be useful. I think he was surprised by how much he liked it. It all comes down to preference. My pako is set up for the fractal bookmark at the moment, but I have touched it in a few weeks because of working on the eagle for DH and the lighthouse for MIL. It would really be useful to use the Pako for the lighthouse.

Oh dear! I didn't mean to say that would apply to everyone! Just to me!
I'm not what you would call an organised stitcher: I have the skeins of thread for my projects 'organised' into little plastic bags according to thread number (about 4 to a bag), which are stuffed into a largish sewing basket, along with 3 ice cube trays which are used for combined colours (each cube nicely labeled with symbol). I use one needle, and thread it as I go along, depositing unused lengths from needle into appropriate cube or wrapping around appropriate skein. Not at all what you ladies do! But I only have a very small space for my stitching, so it suits me. I wouldn't have enough room on the little table by my sewing chair for gadgets! It also has to provide space for the Radio Times, my book, my cuppa, my water bottle, my son's cup, and a bowl of fruit!
I agree with you Fljotsdale. If I got one of these it would go in a dark corner never to be seen again. I don't mind changing thread as I go for me that keeps me organized. But there are so many that like to thread there needles in advance I can see where these would be a must.
As with so much it is a matter of choice and how we organize.

I'm like you, Fljotsdale, I've only got a small space to work in - so this turned out to be more of a liability than anything (and my threads got tangled, and then I was not a happy kitty...) The concept of it is good, and I'm sure that in the right circumstances it would be immensely useful - just those circumstances aren't mine at the moment!

There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE! 
I have a huge muddle of stuff next to me on the settee so I think anything that makes me tidier is a good thing!!
