Sarah's Sunflowers - FINISHED!!!

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

Not another WIP, I hear you say! Well, this kit was delivered to my work on the Friday last week when I felt really ill so I thought I would do a bit of it to make the day pass quicker. It turned out that I only did about a dozen stitches as having my head down made me feel worse, but I decided to keep this kit at work to do when I'm bored, as it's easy to manage at my desk - small piece of fabric (about 14 x 10), chart on 2 x A4 sheets and large blocks of the same colour so I don't need to have things spread all over the place. I've managed to do some over the last two days so here's the first picture........

I am so envious of all you who can stitch at work :( :(

I love sunflowers Sarah, so will enjoy seeing this project coming along.

I'm with Susan...although I probably could get away with stitching at work. It would just be difficult with the children interfering and trying to see what I'm doing. (I'm a babysitter.)

Anyway, that is looking great, Sarah! I love all the yellows!

I can just imagine the headteacher catching me stitching when I should be working - I'd be made to stand outside her office door all day :D :D :D :D :D

Looking good! I just love sunflowers! I wish I could stitch at work too. Although, I'm thinking of doing it during my lunch break since it's getting too cold to go for my walk at lunch. :D

Great start! There's no way I could stitch at work since we only have 1 15 minute break (we only work 5 hours during the evening shift). As for stitching while you're teaching....I actually did that when I was doing my student teaching. The last 2 days of my student teaching were actually finals. I had already handed all of my classes back to my supervising teacher, but I still needed to be at the school. I asked my supervising teacher if she minded if I brought something in, and she said not at all. The first of the two days I spent addressing and assembling my wedding invitations--the girls loved coming over to look at the invitations, and they all wanted to be invited. The second day I worked on the xmas stocking for my fiance and was able to finish the stitching.

I'm lucky to be able to stitch at work - can't do it every day but I would say at least 2 days out of the 5 I get a couple of hours or more where I can stitch. I don't often get a break at all - work 8am - 4.30pm and if I want to go out, generally I have to lock up and pin a note on the door (back in 10 mins) or something like that as very often there's no one in the building except me. Suits me just fine. The younger partner of the company is often in his office next to mine but the last couple of days he's been flying around sorting problems out and I've hardly seen him, so out came the sunflowers!

I managed to do some more of this yesterday (Friday). Here's another pic.
