So nice the shine of the colors on the black is stunning.

Done a bit more (sorry for the slightly iffy colours -- I really ought to photograph this in daylight!):

Mine's going to be a needle cushion (like a pin cushion only used to park my needle in while I'm sorting out threads or something like that)Lisa wrote:what does everyone do with the biscornu's once finished?

Re: Mabel's first biscornu
Ooh, that's giving me ideas now -- we're away for most of the festive season this year, so no tree , but next year... *thinks of sparkly fabrics decorated with holly and mangers in silks or satins and turned into pretty little biscornu ornaments*

Re: Mabel's first biscornu
The first square is finished (well, apart from backstitching the whipstitching line around it). And for now that'sgoing to be the last update as I really really need to set up that name plate, which I will go and do the moment I've posted this! For now, here is the front (in Eterna silk); the back will be the same design but in different colours, and in Madeira silk.

Re: Mabel's first biscornu
That is absolutely beautiful Mabel, but how you are ever going to stick a needle in it, I just don't know.
I'd be too scared of damaging those beautiful threads.
