Celtic Ladies episode 3 - summer

Post by StephanyNJC-UK »

Not much to show so far, i did have the face done but miscounted, by one thread, a half x-stitch on her chin, which threw the rest of her face out; better to realise now than later i s'pose, so i'm not too *ggrrr*. I'll re-do it later on.

The fabric is sugar maple 32c lugana 'watersprite', no sparkley bits in it this time. It's a lot softer than the ones with sparkley bits, more like regular linen, and it doesn't fray the threads like the sparkley does (wasted a lot of thread on the other 2). This is one of the 2 ladies that uses the Needlepaints, i haven't used them before, there's all but 2 of the 12 in this pattern in the sleeve.

Hi Minij, yeah they're the Lavender & Lace range of embroidery threads, quite a few of their designs use them alonside DMC.

Beautiful as always! I'm really starting to like these patterns. I just might have to find them and add them to my stash. I'm also going to have to find some cool fabrics. I love your choices.

A wonderful start! Before reading on I kept peering at the picture to look for the sparkly bits -- good to know it's not my eyes and they weren't actually there :-).
Sorry to hear about the frogging -- isn't it annoying to be half a cross out? I manageds to cover it up in one smallish project, but this one should be perfect, shouldn't it! How are you finding the needlepaints? Are they stranded cottons or some other material?
