A painting of Leonard Nimmoy as Mr Spock, that I did around the same time, maybe a bit later. It's looking a bit old and battered! I should have one I did of Tom Baker as Dr Who, as well, but I can't find it. Maybe it crumbled away... They weren't great paintings anyway, but I enjoyed doing 'em.

Really? Gosh. But thank you both! I haven't done crochet or painting for ... oh... SO long! I was never a fat lot of good at either, and life sort of got in the way of my continuing and improving, and then later... well, I did cross-stitch instead!

Maybe I should have another go at 'em... but I have so much else on at the moment!

How you can say that when you have such proof of your talents staring you in the face I really don't know, but I'm being totally sincere when I say that if I had even half your talent at these I'd be well chuffed with myself!

Thanks, Charmagne! I used oil paper, and oil paint, laid on very thinly, as I had to be very economical with paint, 'cos good quality oils are expensive and I didn't like cheap paints: they don't flow so smoothly from the brush. It's the same with water colours, as I'm sure you know, you being a water colour painter. I liked water colour, too, and did some watercolour pics, but found it a much more difficult medium than oils.

These are great!! I always told my art teacher in high school that I had no talent on flat surfaces, so if I could just turn in my projects as decorated cakes......

As with post offices, "Use it or lose it"! I had a little go at drawing a couple of years ago, and I was hopeless! I guess I would improve with practice, but I don't seem to have much time - especially since my son moved in, and I have my small grandson as well, weekends (love 'em to bits. but my life isn't my own anymore. Plus, I'm a lazy old cat! I can always find excuses... )
