Hello from Australia

Post by Violet »

:D Hi everyone. I am a self-confessed "Stitch-a-holic". I have been cross stitching for over 20 years, ever since I got a free kit on a magazine - I was hooked! I love stitching my own designs, however I am VERY BAD at framing, so I tend to stitch things that don't need a frame!

I am looking forward to getting other ideas here and perhaps sharing some of my hard-earned stitching wisdom with newbies to the craft.

G'Day Violet!! Welcome. Pleased to have you here.

I'm hoping you are well away from the awful fires we are seeing on our news bulletins.

Would love to see some of your projects.

Hi Mabel & Slinky,

Mabel, I enjoy stitching anything I don't have to frame.... cushions, towel name panels,
birth record wall hangings etc. I guess if I can finish the project with some fabric, in my own time at home, with very little cost, I am happy. I am looking forward to sharing some pics of my work with you all (I just worked out how to post a pic in the hints & tips thread)

Slinky... the terrible bushfires are nowhere near where I live, thankfully. It's just too awful to think about at the moment. My parents are in the vicinity of the fires, and I am in touch with them daily. Thank you for your concern. Just praying that the weather doesn't turn against us again.

Thank you Cockneystitcher, it really is unbelievable what's happening here with the fires, and it's not over yet... more hot weather is due by the weekend. My Mum & Dad are well prepared and should have no problem getting out if the weather turns bad.

Welcome from the sunshiny and snowy West of Scotland. You have come to the right place for a self-confessed stitchaholic. Perhaps you would like to join any one of several therapy groups (parties) meeting around the forum and especially in the Stash & Grab, where our 3rd birthday party may still be on the go? Set up a gallery soon so we can see your work. :P
