They say you don't miss the water until the well runs dry......that is appropriate here as I kept coming for a quick read and couldn't. I really missed the forum and take for granted the work you all do for us. Thank you.

My OH said that I was looking totally lost and obviously have no life outside of the forum.

Many thanks for getting my habit back for me......better than cigs, booze or drugs anyday.

Thanks everyone. Sorry it took two and a half days to get it back online. We are going to have to do some work to make sure it dosen't happen again, and that if it does go down, we can get it back up and running sooner.

As to sending out an announcement, well, we didn't know it was going to go down in such a colosal way  , we always try to keep things running while we do upgrades and such and even when they go wrong we can normally get things back online quickly.

We still need to fix the spam problem though as the reason we knew the forum was back up was the spam started coming through...

re the spammers: my OH has replaced the "type the characters" question with a question the person registering have to type an answer i.e. what colour is snow?? if its a bot, then they wont recognise the question.
