Sarah's Sunflowers - FINISHED!!!!!

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

I've started it! YAY! I was feeling a bit rough last night so I thought I would cheer myself up by starting a new project  I'm sure you've all heard plenty of excuses for starting a new one! Anyway, this kit was bought for me for Christmas by Simon's sister, Carol. Here's the pic of what it's supposed to look like, for any of you who missed it before (I think I might have put it in my Chinese dragon thread actually).
Image

It took a bit of preparation as I had to get a single strand of thread and do a running stitch horizontally along the length of the fabric through the three panels as the middle panel has a printed cross in the middle to tell you where the centre is, but the other two don't and I wanted to make sure my panels were perfectly aligned. Then I stitched three of four stitches on each panel right in the centres so I could pull out my guideline.

Then eventually, I got to stitch a bit of a sunflower. Here's last night's effort on Panel 1.

Agi, yes, it has come with dyed fabric - the whole piece has sunflower images dyed into it and then just three blank panels are left for the stitching.

Lizzy, sunflowers are my favourites too - they look so happy, don't they? This is my second sunflower project.

I love sunflowers too. I have several kits of my own that have sunflowers in them, but they keep getting moved down the list of what to stitch next.

The fabric really makes the whole design! from the cover it looks like a piece of card! It's going to look great, I love the reds and browns in it, it gives the pattern a lazy late afternoon relaxed feel.
