login problem

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

well, not really a problem, just a minor annoyance, but if anyone knows what to do about it...

I had the box ticked which said Log Me In Automatically, which it always did so I went straight into the forum whenever I visited the site, but now it asks me to log in every time, and when I tick the Log Me In Automatically box, it doesn't make a difference, the next time I still need to log in and the box is unticked again. Any suggestions?

Mabel that is interesting I had that problem a couple days ago and I thought it was my computer clean-up program that runs and when it does I have to reregister with my sites then when I did it the next 2 days I thought I was not paying attention so that was why I had to redo it. The last few days it has actually work as it should. I would say send Alex a quick note so he is aware and can do a trouble shot on the system to see if there is a glitch in the system.

My first thought was have any of your computer settings been changed so your computer won't accept cookies - but as Rose has had the same problem maybe it's something to do with the site itself rather than your computer... :thinks:

Wondering if it is an internet explorer problem. I use IE to get here, but can't use my BT Yahoo Internet Explorer as that always chucks me off :(
I see there is a new IE8 available. Dare I upgrade :thinks:

I use Firefox :-) -- and would you believe it, I post about the problem and it seems to be gone: it just recognised me immediately this time!

It would probably be a good idea to let Alex know what browser you're using too, in case it's specific to a particular one. I haven't had any problems with logging in :x: :x: :x: :x: :x: :x: :x: :x: :x:

Hi Everyone.

I was just checking everything is working after the long weekend.

This sounds like a cookie problem, not the edible kind, but these

It really depends not only on your browser but also on how its set up. As Rose and Susan have said, drop us a note with the browser and version you are using and we'll try to help out.
