Street Scene "Finished and Framed"

Post by mauveme »

Well I finally started a new project on Monday. It is a Street scene of shop fronts. The first one is the Antique shop. I am stitching it on 28 ct evenweave, hand dyed to look like the sky. Very subtle . Not done a project this size on evenweave but it going beter than I thought although I need a magnifying glass occasionally  (going to be 8" by 20")
I got the pattern from Just Cross Stitch over 5 issues. After the third one it occured to me that this darn thing is going to cost over $40 by the time I get all the patterns.  . Oh well

Here is it is finished.

Me too. I have always been drawn to houses and buildings. Didn't do anything else until I got a computer and discovered places like this and other great things to stitch.

This is lovely! And looks like quite solid blocks of colour so shouldn't be too complicated?
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this one

This is going to be so interesting! There's a lot there to keep your enthusiasm going and I love your choice of fabric!
I always use evenweave when I'm doing a 'keepsake' style project.

:applesauce: great start! :applesauce:

I am really enjoying this. It is a challenge and I haven't had much of a challenge in a long time. Got me really excited to stitch for a change, not just something to keep my hands busy.
