Lavender & Lace 'The Wedding' 04/11/10 COMPLETED and FRAMED

I've finally been able to start the wedding sampler I'm doing for BIL and future SIL. It's Lavender & Lace's The Wedding, and it's the biggest project I've done so far. I'm stitching on 16 count lurex Aida, cream and gold speckled.

I've also changed some if the colours, the wedding dress is now mainly off white with matching shades, hair colours have been changed to match actual bride and groom, and blue ribbons will be changed to a pink or a gold, as if yet I'm undecided.
This picture is after 4 days of stitching and I'm really enjoying it

Lovely chart to stitch, you are so clever to change the colours to suit the couple, believe me they will love and cherish this when you give it to them, I have stitched it three times and little did I know what I had started! All the family that get married ask me to do them one, so beware!! Honestly though, it shows how much it is loved so enjoy stitching it, It only took me two and a half months each time so I am sure you have given yourself plenty of time to stitch it, just enjoy.

They are getting married 23rd of October, I figure I need to have it done by mid September as we are moving back to the uk in the beginning of October and I don't think there will be much time for stitching once we get there with job hunting and flat hunting

This is a lovely design. I have this in my stash too. I started it several years ago but the couple I was going to give it to didn't get married in the end, so it's still unfinished.

I really love this design but all those shades of white put me off trying it, I'd probably end up cross eyed, lol.
It's great that you're personalising it especially to suit the couple getting married, it will be something they'll really treasure I'm sure.

So I'll just settle myself down here with some chocolate to keep me company and wait for more updates!
