Blackwork is basically very easy as it is backstitching. If you are not a fan of backstitching then this is proably not for you. At one time I had a site bookmarked with the history of how it started. I am googling to see if I can find the link for you.

HA HA I found what I was looking for this link has a history and lots of other stuff like patterns and the lot.

If you google blackwork there is a lot of information out there and you could find a site that has tutorials.

If it ever shows up I have a Blackwork dragon coming that I want to do on a navy blue cloth and all of the stitching in silver. I will give it to my son.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

I want to try that butterfly design you have also done Raelou, it was in one of the cross stitch mags.

I have this white/black thing going at the moment, and I'd like to make two cushions with this pattern. One stitched facing the right, using white thread on black aida, then making a kind of 4 " border with white silk/satin, (not the ultra smooth stuff, it's got sort of uneven lines running through it), for the front. Back a square of the same colour and fabric as front border.

The second one facing the left stitched on white aida, using black thread, and "framed" with black material like the other one.

Well, this is the idea... I've got so much stuff "in the pipeline" I might change my mind by the time I get round to doing it!!

You'll have to let us know what you decide to stitch Helendix2!

Oh, yeah!! Converted to the pound, the charts alone cost £11 each, which isn't that bad actually. I like the same two, you do Raelou, if you ever wanted to go dutch and swap let me know!!!
