Would looking at colour charts on Sewandso or other help you figure it out if you have a picture of the finished design? or is it way too complicated for that?

Quite a lot of kit threads have the manufacturers own numbering, or their own color descriptions. So it may not work to just go by how they describe a color.
I would try and contact either the person you bought the kit from, or the manufacturer and see if you can get the DMC or Anchor conversion ...

This chart from Yarn Tree is also very good for finding particular threads. You can look by number or by color grouping so makes it a little easier. I found it by googling "DMC colors by family". I'm sure there are lots more out there also.

I did check the link I found two but cant find the rest. This wll teach me to number the threads when removing them from the packet
