Re: 2013 Ornament Exchange: Sending List on first post

Oh my gosh! That was fast! We almost could have hand delivered it...since I was mailing it a little late...we are in TN now on vacay. I laughed a little when I looked up your address again to write on the package and saw how close we were this week!!

I got my ornament in the mail the day we left ...

That is awesome. You did a wonderful job finishing it and whoever charted it out for you was spot on. You would never know it was a merge of 2 different designs! :applesauce: :D :applesauce: :D

Talenaya, I was wondering the same thing! I didn't know Desiree was having so much trouble. Thanks Reta for the link. I missed that thread somehow. Hopefully she will have a speedy recovery. I know the charts are the last thing on her mind!! While we are waiting, you want to exchange a chart with me ...

Cross stitch related words

I'm doing an embroidery project and I need a lot of cross stitch related words. I am using someone else's design idea, so I thought I might need some different words so it wouldn't be flat out plagiarism!!

These are the words the original design uses...

cross stitch, linen, stash, q-snaps, beads ...

Help with ornament exchange project

Ok, I'm working on my ornament and I'm working it on 14 count plastic canvas. I have 2 questions.

1. How do you cut the sides where you can't tell there are/were holes. I'm afraid if I cut much more, it'll be too close to the design.

2. How do you finish the back? I'm trying to stitch meaty, but ...

Re: Bent Creek Santa Train Stocking stitch along.

Ok, so here is where I am now in the stocking. I am only getting to work on it during little ones gym class...an hour a week. :(

I'm not sure if I'm getting tension equal. Some seem quite a bit tighter than others. I am a tight stitcher normally so I am really having to concentrate on not pulling ...

My hubby and I both can't WAIT till Downton starts here. I heard first of February, but I'd take January...even a week or two early! We have Season's 1-3 on DVD and will start rewatching them in November to get refired up and ready for Season 4 to start!!

Re: Stashmas Wishlists

Need:
Q Snaps (have a 6x6 only)
Q Snap huggies/covers - purchased or hand made

I am just now discovering different types of threads and fabrics...I've always used white/beige aida and regular ol' DMC floss. So, any type of specialty thread or fabric for me to try would be great (hand dyed, over ...

Re: Bent Creek Santa Train Stocking stitch along.

Thanks for the love ladies!!

Ok, here is my progress over the last few days. I didn't get much done on the weekend trip, so I think I've made decent progress. I've only had to undo stitches about 3 times for missing my over 2 spot, but overall I've enjoyed stitching over 2. It's not near as hard as ...
