I just had a look at your "Umbrella Girl", amazing, what a lot of work has gone into that.

Re: WOODLAND ENCHANTRESS finally completed....

Wow! I know what you mean about couching - not a fan either, but that just looks stunning! I love all the detail on it - the gold backstich along the hem of her clothing, the couched bit and those sparklies.. are the beads or sparkley thread?

The sparklies are clear beads, there is a lot of work ...

WOODLAND ENCHANTRESS finally completed....

Here is a photo of the Dimensions Gold kit, Woodland Enchantress which took me way too long. My next project is much smaller and I will be starting it today. No couching which I hate when especially when using gold thread!

Help please with metallic thread....

I am nearing the end of a Dimensions Gold cross stitch, and have run out of the "metallic" thread that came with the kit. I have googled gold thread and discovered it comes in many shades. Does anyone know what the thread is that is used in these kits, I would appreciate any help, thanks.

They are beautiful, oh if we only had time to do all the cross stitches we enjoy! There are so many and it's so hard to choose sometimes :)

Re: Woodland Enchantress work in progress...

Thanks for all the comments, and some of you made the comment about leaving it at that stage to work on something else. I do regret that somewhat, but one of my favoutite artists is Kim Jacobs, and when I saw that HAED had introduced some charts of her work, I couldn't help myself.

She looks stunning! It will be great to see her finished when you get back to her!

How do you get on with the Dimensions gold charts? They confuse me and I gave up on the only one I have done but I have so many in my stash I'm desperate to get on with!!

Re: Woodland Enchantress work in progress...

What an inspirational design!
I must confess, I feel the same way when I get about 3/4 of a way though a project... maybe too much time looking at the same thing. I just want to get on to something else!
But really, this is so beautiful! I can't wait to see the final product!

Re: Question please regarding tent stitch on 28ct fabric

Thanks for the input.

Yes, I initially started this on 25 count 2x2 and gave up as I struggled to get the needle through at times, and the lumpiness was a lot more noticeable. It sounds as though it will look OK after it has been pressed and framed.

I start with the loop method and finish by ...

Question please regarding tent stitch on 28ct fabric

If anyone can help me I would much appreciate it - I am stitching a Haed pattern which is tent stitch on 28ct evenweave with 2 strands.
I have finished one page, but the worked piece is not totally flat, if anyone knows what I mean. There is a lot of confetti work, and I don't believe my tension is ...

Re: Hi from New Zealand

Thanks everyone for the welcome and encouragement, yes, I hope I am not being too ambitious tackling 28ct, but at 60, definitely need a magnifier. I have thought about 1 over1 with full cross stitch, but I have to admit that with the amount of stitching that there is to do, and I have a few lined up ...

Hi from New Zealand

I have been doing cross stitch for many years, but have recently just started my first Haed, which I am about to restart after getting very frustrated.
It is from the artwork of Kim Jacobs which I just love, but I am working on 25ct fabric doing 2 over 1 with full cross stitch. I am spending more ...
