Oddly, as I'm not one to stitch stockings, I have this one in my stash. Probably a result of inheriting from various family who no longer stitch If you tell me which area is damaged I can try to get you the info.

My backs end up pretty neat not as a goal but more because it fits with my personality. I tend to be logical and orderly so I stitch in rows left to right with the first leg of the cross and back for the second leg and starting with the loop method. 1. I am incapable of having a messy back.
