Re: To everyone everywhere

Best wishes to all for Christmas. Stay safe if you are travelling and I hope that your Christmas is all that you wish it to be. As for New Year - as we say in Scotland "Aw ra best" for 2010! :toast:

Re: Pet Peeves

Lonely car parkers! Sometimes I drive a larger car than I am usually used to and so I pick a space to park in that has no other cars next to it, making it easier to get in and out of. I come back and low and behold I'm hemmed in on all sides - while the rest of the *@##~$ car park is empty! Do these ...

Re: Holy Night

This is lovely - and so effective already. I found the black a real pain. My hubby's solution was (no laughing now) to use a head torch! I did try having it behind my stitching but it kept shifting so I strapped it to my leg! That didn't last long so I just persevered with my stitching lamp and a ...

Re: HELP????? FELT APPLIQUE XMAS STOCKINGS???

Now that I have finished my Santa Stocking I've started on this wall hanging. I'm actually really enjoying it. I'll try to post a photo with progress but at the moment I'm having trouble with photobucket. Every time I try to edit a pic Internet Explorer crashes! Technology eh - who would have it???

Re: SANTA STOCKING -COMPLETED 14/11/09

Finished at last. The beading did not take as long as anticipated, and it only took 1 night to stitch up. Really pleased with the result. I used iron on interfacing to protect the stitching from getting caught on parcels going in and out of the stocking.

Re: Flat hunting - CHOSEN- CONTRACT SIGNED

Great news! :applesauce: I'm sure all will be well. Sometimes things just have the odd "hiccup" and work out fine in the end. I'm sure its just the universe's way of ensuring our blood pressure doesn't drop too low!

Re: HELP????? FELT APPLIQUE XMAS STOCKINGS???

Yes I went ahead and bought a Christmas stocking hanging decoration - complete with fairy lights!!! I have opened it up and it looks a bit daunting - but I want to start it once I get my Santa Stocking finished. That should be quite soon if I can keep up with my progress so far. I must say some of ...

Re: SANTA STOCKING -NEW UPDATE 7/11/09

Most of Santa is now finished and I am on to the stars around him. I decided to bead around some of the stars that should just have had a darker tangerine floss. I am planning to replace all of the french knots and confetti stiches with beads as I really don't fancy trying french knots with blending ...

Glad at least the first day went well. Know what you mean about induction - I've got an inservice coming up and I can feel the yawn building already. Sorry to hear about your car though, hope it gets fixed quickly for you.

Re: SANTA STOCKING -UPDATED 31/10/09

Here is the latest progress on Santa. This is where I left off last night. I must say that the 3 strands over 14ct is not great (I would prefer 2 - but I know that 3 gives more coverage on the black). On to working with the blending filament now.

Re: Snow!!

:x: If it's bad I hope you get a day off work. There's nothing better than a "should be work day" spent illicitly stitching while the snow falls!!! He he he - of course there is nothing else that you could do in such circumstances! :cold: Keep warm if the snow comes and build us all a snowman.

Re: DIMENSIONS - holiday harmony tree skirt

This looks lovely - but loads of work for a Christmas finish. I love all Christmas stitchy things - I think they may be my weakness! I look for excuses and people to do them for. :thinks: Surely it is unkind to leave a poor Christmas tree without the proper clothing? A skirt could be on my list for ...

Re: 3 New Kits From HobbyCraft Exibition!!!

Really complex kits you have chosen - but sooooo nice. They will keep you busy while the "nights are drawing in". I was at the Hobbycrafts in SECC Glasgow on Friday. Sad to say I was a bit disappointed. I felt it was mostly card and papercraft stuff around. I was really disappointed in the Crafts ...
