Re: Any quilters on here?
I quilted for several years, but recently gave away most of my stash. I currently have an over sized queen size quilt that I need to finish quilting. It is the first quilt I made, and the largest, but I've lost interest in quilting. I'm quilting it on my domestic sewing machine and it is a bear to ...

Re: Any quilters on here?
Bought four shirts. One's been shipped out and it should be here around the 4th or 5th. One website had to refund me my money upon finding that the shirt I bought was out of stock...used the refunded money to buy another shirt. The official Kittie website is out of stock of three of their shirts ...

Re: Any quilters on here?
I think I'm gonna have to buy a shirt for myself to rid myself of the guilt. ;)
Sound reasoning ;-)
I don't know which one I'll get yet. Thinking of either the one with the band photo or the one with the kitty skull on the front and the kitty skeleton surrounded by roses on the back. Maybe both ...

Re: Any quilters on here?
I decided to go with the grey. I think it doesn't overwhelm the quilt, but there's still enough contrast with the shirts. I was just too iffy on the red.
I made my very first eBay purchase and got two shirts! I'm so excited! Two weeks and I'll start getting shirts to work with!

Re: Any quilters on here?
Good idea! My first thought was that it would look pretty cool with a checkerboard border, like on a pair of Vans, but where would you find that?! I vote the red.
They have checkered or diamond checker fabrics out there so it'd be easy to recreate the VANS look. Ah...you just reminded me of my ...

Any quilters on here? If so, what are you working on?
Here's "concept art" of my project. Its for a quilt I'm making for my boyfriend made out of Kittie band shirts. Thought it'd be the perfect Christmas present since we both love Kittie (both our favorite band) and we met on their chat forums ...

Re: Legend of Zelda project
I'm surprised how well its coming out too considering when I first started on it I thought it looked awful. But then I put in more work, fixed a lot of problem areas, and now its looking pretty sweet.

Adding extra fabric?
I've been looking at my first chart in my Zelda series. The chart is 22X10, but the stiched area is more like 21x9. So that leaves me about an inch of fabric around the entire thing.
The cross stitch books tell me if I plan on framing a project that I need to add extra fabric around the border so ...

Re: Legend of Zelda project
For working at Wal-Mart for three months, they mailed me my discount card. Which means I'll get my laptop when I get paid this week (at 10% off, the $398 computer I want will be more like $377). Then I can get back to work on these charts...well, provided I don't get too sucked into playing Sims 3.

Re: Legend of Zelda project
I finally gave in and bought Photoshop and a scanner. In two weeks I'm buying a laptop. I got tired of sharing a computer with three other people (i.e. my family) and never having any large amounts to do my writing, artwork, computer games, or whatever else I please. My friends also moved a couple ...

Re: Hoops/Frames Suggestions
I love q snaps too--highly recommend them. I do believe that there is an 8 by 8 inch size as well, so if you order the 8's and 11's you could interchange them so that they would make an 8 by 11--which may work out great for what you need--do remember too that if your stitched area is 10 inches then ...

Re: Hoops/Frames Suggestions
I'm thinking the Q-snaps, as just about everyone has suggested them. Not sure what size to get, though.
I have 6x6 and 11x11 with converters; these suit me well for most projects.
I think 6x6 might be too small (?). On the other hand 11x11 would be too big for the width of five of the six ...

Hoops/Frames Suggestions
I swear, this should be my last noob question for a while. lol.
I've only dabbled in cross stitch and all the stuff I've worked on have been small enough where I didn't need a hoop or frame to help with the thread tension. But each section of my Zelda project are so ridiculously huge (sizes being ...

Re: Charles Craft Aida?
I'm really happy with the response! The other site I found was selling Aida for $10.99 per foot (43"x12"). When I figured it out, I found I could only get five out of the six pieces I needed from one yard of Aida and would of had to buy another yard just to get that last piece so a lot of that ...

Charles Craft Aida?
I found enough Aida for my Zelda project that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Its from Charles Craft. Haven't heard anything about their aida. Has anyone bought aida from them and would you reccomend using it?
