Re: Needlepaints

The Needlepaints are very pretty to work with but they are difficult to find. I managed to luck out and find some in a clearance bin and I really like them but I wouldn't go out of my way to find them. There shouldn't be any difficulties substituting DMC or another brand even. I would just double ...

Re: mirabilia and passione ricamo

It definitely comes down to personal preference. I'm working on Enchanted Fairy by passione ricamo and have found that I'm not making as many mistakes or having as many problems with it since I gridded the fabric. But I am very scatterbrained so I need something to help me keep track of where I am ...

Working with perforated paper?

So does any one have any tips for working with perforated paper? Can you use a frame with it? Or do you just do the stitching as normal only unframed? I've got some cards I want to make for former clients and I wanted to give it a try. I have ideas on finishing it but I can't seem to find any tips ...

Going on vacation. Yay.

My husband and I will be in Oregon for a couple weeks in April visiting his family. :applesauce: I was wondering if anyone knows of any good local shoppes in the Salem and coastal areas. Since I know he will be willing to let me do some shopping while we are there. :x:  I am so looking ...

Re: Reading

Both my husband and I are avid readers. I love curling up with a good book but they take up space. For my husband who is in the navy on an aircraft carrier he doesn't have room to store any books. The amount of space the average sailor gets to store personal stuff in is about equivalent to a public ...

Re: Reading

Barnes and Noble also does free eBooks. You don't even need a reader. You can download the Nook for PC application. Some are only samples but some are the full book and I've gotten some from my favorite authors for free. Its great. I will be looking into the the Amazon though since I'm sure they ...

Re: Things you learned from your first cross stitch project

I don't remember what I stitched for my first project. It was an ornament of some kind. What I learned was most important in any stitching though is to read the chart instructions. Even if you plan on changing some things you still need to read and verify how many threads, or if there are specialty ...

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone. My current project is Enchanted Fairy. I have another project that my husband requested and designed that I am waiting on the fabric for. I'll post that when I get started.
