Re: What is a "French Needle Maid Book"?

Thank you, Rose! It was one of the other Access Commodities kits that I was looking at, but what I saw didn't show the inside and when I googled, none of the results seemed to show the inside part.

Thanks so much!

Re: Review sites you've ordered from

I agree that 123 advising you of what you need to complete the pattern is A-MAY-ZING! I absolutely LOVE that feature. And I love all the different hand-dyed stuff they have, too. I ordered from Sew and So a week or so ago and received everything in the mail today, in perfect condition (all the way ...

What is a "French Needle Maid Book"?

I came across a cross stitch/needlework kit that I thought was really pretty, but it said it is a "french needle maid book." Does anyone happen to know exactly what that is? It sort of looks like a book you might keep your needles in, but then, it looks a little big for that, too.

Any ideas? The ...

Re: how did you start?

My mom and I both got the same stamped cross stitch pattern when I was probably around 13 or so. Neither of us had ever tried it before, although she did crochet. It didn't take me long to figure out that I cannot stand stamped cross stitch patterns. The X's were coming out uneven and I cannot stand ...

Re: How do you organize your floss?

Well, I just ordered bobbins for the little floss I do have and baseball trading card sleeves (to put the bobbins in) to go in a binder. I'm not sure what I'll do yet for WIPs. I do kind of wish I could find ziploc like sleeves because I would love to seal the thread in to prevent it from getting ...

Re: Cross Stitch Cards

Thanks, everyone! I ended up just going ahead and ordering from sewandso.co.uk. They had tons of different sizes, colors, and cutout shapes that I just couldn't find in the US. A lot of the google results I had tried earlier redirected me to ECrater and when I got there, the page said "item not ...

Re: Cross Stitch Cards

Carole,

Hi! Thanks! The problem is that I can find patterns to stitch easily enough - it's the actual blank precut cards that are impossible to find! Even the googling is leaving a lot to be desired, but I will try again.

I know in the UK they are called apertures, but in the US I'm not sure what ...

Cross Stitch Cards

Good morning everyone! After looking at some of the British cross-stitching sites, I've discovered a LOT of them cross stitch greeting cards for birthdays or special occasions, which I am wanting to do this year for a few people. However, I've had miserable luck trying to find a good source of the ...
