Another lovely design, Mabel. :applesauce: :applesauce:

What base fabric is that? it looks a if it had a slight slub in the weave. Silk maybe?

:thinks: :thinks: :thinks: a snag.

The top "tear drop" was charted to be surrounded by fat French knots in soft cotton. But it looks too fussy and cramped. However, when I photoshopped the French knots out, it looked rather naked - probably because the other two tear drops both have double outlines.

Now what?

At the moment I'm tempted to take out the fat French knots and replace them with smaller French knots, closer to the outline, and not all around but following the outline partly (as in the other two).

Here's a small comparison:

To me the French knots 'balance' the lacey edge of the one opposite Mabel. Without the French knots it doesn't looked 'balanced' to me. Maybe you could spread the knots further apart so as to be less crowded?
Good luck with deciding what to do I am sure that it will be super beautiful as always when finished. :D

Sally, your remark about echoing the lacy edge gave me an idea, and I used fly stitches instead of French knots!

I needed some way to show off the Shisha Clover for the day class, so I took the previous shisha project out of my silk rajmahal box and re-used it - the box, I mean :-)

And another finish - some trivets I found at Sew & So's were just the right size for Flora and Wedgwood :-)

Did some experimenting with hand-dyed felt and a floral scribble, and here is my own take on what you might call informal flower stitching :-). When I stitch this again (perhaps on a different fabric) some elements will be slightly differently placed and/or stitched, but on the whole I'm happy with it.

The bee was a bit of an afterthought, but I've fallen in love with him and he's definitely in the design to stay!

(I'll FoF about this one in the near future)
