DMC Cotton Perle No 8

Post by SusanF »

Does anyone know a web site to buy DMC Cotton Perle No 8? The best price I've found is £1.69 at Stitchaholics (never heard of this site before). There is someone selling on eBay but she doesn't have the shade I need DMC 712 Cream.

Have never bought it myself, but Tandem Cottage Needleworks stocks it for £1.40. I've used this site before and it's ok.

Do you have to use DMC? Normally, I'm all for DMC, but I use anchor pearls, and they are great. And cheaper. The equivalent to 712 is Anchor 926.

Tandem Cottage sells it for £1.35 a ball
At willow fabrics, it costs £1.67 for a ball http://www.willowfabrics.com/acatalog/A ... _1011.html" target="_blank
At stitchdirect.com it costs £1.62

Thank you both for the replies - I hadn't thought of looking for an alternative Serinde

I'm hoping to start kitting up a new project from a book I got for Christmas - Drawn Thread Embroidery. Think I'll need to practise a bit first though!!

What's one more project on the go, heh?

It looks to me as if you are contemplating the first sampler, Summer Garden? If you were, I would probably do the whitework version of it (can't fit in those pinks and greens anywhere in my house). I might even have the fabric in my stash (I know I have the threads). What timing were you thinking of?

Yes I thought I better start at the beginning! And it would be good to see how they look if we are both doing different versions of it too. How about starting mid to late Feb - that should give me time to get the floss and have a bit of a practise first :D :D
