A forum newbie.. asking for a little assistance...

Post by welshgwen »

Hello! Just popping in for some help and seeing if i get addicted!

OK so i have been stitching on and off for years, and my mum does as well, she did the beautiful January from the Amathusia range for my 21st.

But ladies, 2 of my cousins are getting married next year, so when i saw the chart in cross stitcher 212 i thought it would be great... nice little present and I can get it framed and its something very very personal.

now this is where i need assistance! I normally buy kits already to rock and roll, but I want to do this but want to convert the colours from pinks to lilacs and purples.

So any suggestions of how i can do this easily? or if there is a website i can use.

I then have to convert it to reds for the other cousin! So any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello

Haven't had chance to look at the pattern yet but the following might help you choose colours. Have just found it myself so haven't tested it yet.
Look at paragraph 4 which lists the dmc colours in families.

I have changed coulours for wedding samplers etc in the past to match the theme of the wedding, all I have done is look at a colour chart and pick out the shades in the colour I want to use that I like, and swapping light shades, medium shades and darker shades in the right places, if you get what I mean
