Q-SNAPS
Hello,
I was suggested to use q-snaps. I have ordered different designs or different sizes. Could anyone tell me.....which size to prefer so that I can place an order together.....than one by one. my
Design 1 -----13cm* 13cm
Design 2------15cm by 20cm
largest one measures 9.2" * 15.2"
Let me know the q-snap sizes I should order.
I might buy some more designs once I am done with these.. So please kindly let me know the sizes I should go for and need not buy them in the future.
cheers
Jerry

Re: Q-SNAPS
Hi, I only bought one, it's not a Q-snap but the UK version, R&R frames. I bought a 9" x 9" one (if I remember correctly), and use it for everything but the very small designs. For those I have a small hoop.
If the fabric is bigger, I just fold the edges and pin them together so they are not on the way, and if I have to move the frame clips over the stitched area, I put a piece of scrap fabric between the frame and the stitches, that's all.
So you may not need to buy more than one.

Re: Q-SNAPS
I have several sizes but that is due to starting with the larger size and then wanting more of the smaller sizes for smaller pieces and also I wanted more then one frame after I discovered how great they are. I have 4 currently with an extention so I can make loads of different sizes. I just love the frames they are really great to work with. One of the best things to come around for stitchers in the recent years.

Re: Q-SNAPS
I have ordered a 11" x 11" Q snap frame from http://www.stitchdirect.co.uk" target="_blank" after they were recommended by this site. I have just had an email to say it is on the way, yippee! I have had loads of similar frames before but the feedback I have seen suggests that Q snaps are really good. I am going to start the peacock chart that Mabel sent me, so I am hoping that the postman will bring me something nice tomorrow.
If I do a bigger chart can I fold the fabric so there will not be a lot of surplus hanging over if you see what I mean?

I am working on a Christmas Tree Skirt so you can imagine how big that is, I use the q-snap on that . I just roll the sides up and clip them with binder clips, that works for me. I know that there are some cloth holders???? (not sure what the real name is) that you can buy that are used to hold excess fabric out of the way.

Re: Q-SNAPS
I just have one 9 by 9 one, and i'm using that for a large project. I think if the frame was any bigger it would be too big and heavy for me to hold comfortably.

Re: Q-SNAPS
I have a 9x9 one (not Q Snap, but similar) and I just fold the edges of the fabric back under the clips (I don't have a huge amount of excess on the current project) and it holds everything nice and tightly without the edges hanging down in the way. It's a nice size for having a good-sized area to stitch without it being cumbersome to hold. Best stitching accessory I've ever bought!
Re: Q-SNAPS
My Q Snap frame arrived this morning. Can't wait to try it out later.
Re: Q-SNAPS
I have various sizes. Used the big 17x17 for one project to avoid having the 'snaps' over the stitching, but am currently using a 9x11 for hardanger piece at the moment. Hope you enjoy yours.
Re: Q-SNAPS
Does anyone know if the R&R frames and the Q Snaps are interchangeable? I have an R&R frame, but was wondering if I'd be able to use the parts on a Q-snap if I got various different sizes... I like the idea of mix-and-match for the frame sizes!
Re: Q-SNAPS
You can get different sizes for the R&R frames, i'm guessing they don't go together with Q-Snaps.

Re: Q-SNAPS
I have a qsnap and I believe it's 8 x 8. You can always buy extenders for qsnaps if you decide you want to go larger. I prefer this size just because any bigger and I don't think I could hold it very well and any smaller and I would have to move it too often. It's probably all a preference thing in the end.
