Backstitch question...

Post by Anati »

Hello everybody!

I'm new to cross stitching and to the forum!

My design has two symbols in one square. I know this means that each symbol represents a ¼ stitch. What I’m a little confused about is the backstitch running through the square.
In the map this backstitch looks like a thin grey line. What I’m not sure about is this:

In my stitiching key there is a backstitich symbol which is a thick grey line. I'm not sure whether the thin grey line running through the double symbol square represents this thick grey line symbol in the key or is it another colour every time depends on the dominant colour of the area and the pattern it’s suppose to make…

I hope i'm clear....

Please help...

Thanks!!!!!

It might just be a line to make the spearation of the two colours in one square clearer ... Do you have a picture of what it looks like when finished? That might help you determine what it means.

It could be that the line looks larger on the chart then it looks in the key. As Meg has said try to look at the picture of the finished pattern and see were the backstitching lies.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

Thanks! I will try to take each section sepretly and see what the line means in regards to the big picture, although it is very hard to understand from looking at the photo...

fingers crossed...
Thanks!
