Restarted the bookmark last night with 22ct this time (!) and different colours, a stronger set of threads: a dark slate blue DMC 930 pearl 5 and Wildflowers 163 (Plum), which is an intriguing variegated thread. It includes all the usual plum colours including that blue blush. Lovely to use.

The effect is almost like a Black Watch tartan, curiously.

Started a birthday card - a 'butterfly fairy' by Lesley Teare. Too small for a SAL so I'll post a photo of the card in my gallery when it's done. I worked on it while sitting outside, fighting off mosquitos and feeding peanuts to chipmunks. Nonetheless, I made a good start . . . :)

Yeah, I stitched today . . . and I wish I hadn't. When I got to the last line of a color in an area I found I was one square off. I recounted several times and I had the right number of stitches in that row, but the placement was off by 1 stitch next to what I had already done. So I counted the next row over. That row was 2 stitches off. I recounted several times just to be sure, but the number didn't change. That means the next row is off . . . and so on . . . and so on. Now I'm going to have to :ribbit: who knows how many stitches to get it right. I tried looking at the pattern to see if I could modify it to cover the mistake, but I can't. I put the project down in disgust and took out a book to read instaed. No miscounting there. :(

Normally I stitch every night (especially now seeing my calf muscle is still healing ) but last night was an exception. I had brought my alphabet into work as I finished K on Monday night so I wanted to draw up the square for L and I managed to forget to take it home when I left work.

Last night I was working on the baptism sampler.

I am stitching a person in a suit. The pattern has it as stripes, which I assume to make it look pinstriped.

So first colour is blue ... done it. next I pick up the black ... stood back and looked, decided it looked more like pyjama's!
:(
Actually checked the pattern  saw it should have been a grey colour not black.

Frogged it. :frog:

Got out the grey the pattern calls for, restitched ... it now looks like a convict!

*Big Sigh*

Think I'm going to frog the grey and redo it another shade of blue, so it looks (hopefully!!) like a blue suit!

Can't see this being ready to take away with us tomorrow morning now as I have all the packing and cleaning etc to do today.

Finished the minister's bookmark, and now am starting one for Mrs minister.

Have also been playing with my Celtic knot font, which now has a subfont using grids for stitchers! Hooray! See them here, and it's worth having a look at what has been created using them in the Arts and Crafts section. http://www.clanbadge.com" target="_blank

Wow, this is an amazing thing. I have put it on my wishlist...

I have been stitching my Blackstone Fantasy Garden - want to do another page of it before starting on my nature project.

I'm having stitching withdrawals..ever since the OH's jeep broke down, we've been getting up between 3 and 4am because he has to be to work so early and so it means that when I get home from work I am too tired to do anything but eat dinner and take a shower and then it's bed time! *sigh* :ratherbe:
