Poor Sammy, it's no fun when your exhausted is it. Hope you're soon feeling much better.
My mum has an underactive thyroid. She's on meds for it which thankfully seem to help her mostly, but I've noticed she gets tired much quicker these days .

I think I might spend a day here recovering from my 10km fun run this morning as is there someone who could give me a massage, my back and legs really could do with one! The only part of me that doesn't seem to ache at the moment is my head! I couldn't believe how hot it got during the run (it's supposed to be the last day of WINTER!), we started about 7am (already 22°C) and by the time I finished (about 8:40am) it was already 26°C!

Auntie Serinde has just opened the St Cross Stitchers Maternity Unit for TT and littlie. :stork: All rooms ensuite, of course, with perfect ventilation (not too hot, not too cold) and comfy nursing chairs. Everything you need for smallest person, too, of course. :cloud9: :balloons: Comes complete with private lounge.

Now, she says briskly, striding out into the main ward. Who's here at the moment? Hmmm nearly a full house. Chicken soup (any veggies here? there is also lentil and tomato), lots of tea (including fruit and chamomile), jelly for those with tender tums or sore throats.

*plumbs pillows* *refreshes water jugs*

Extra special massage for kimkat, and congratulations :balloons: on completion of 10K. :applesauce: :applesauce:

How's that kitty? *checks kitty milk is available*

Here, now, let me help you. Unfortunately, you are going to need to be in quarantine, at least until we know whether the bug is catching or not. I think, however, that everyone's non-stitching immunity is pretty high, so you should be out and about soon.

Bacon butty? Nae probs. Ketchup or brown sauce with that? Hot chocolate. Marshmallows?

I think I'm going to have to pop in here for a day or two. Got the beginnings of a migraine, so can I just curl up in a nice quiet dark room for a bit?

Right over here. You just go to sleep, and there is cool water and a compress for your fevered brow should you require it. :silenced:

Oh dear, that's painful!

*fluffs pillows and makes sure the affected limb is comfortable*

Is this bed by the window OK? The view today is particularly soothing.

I'm on the bacon buttie rota today as Jilly's away. There's banana bread and fresh peaches on special today too!

I need a bed, please. :beg:
I have had a sore throat for a few days now, first I thought it was only the beginning-of-school-year throat problem, but last night, and today all day, I have had terrible headaches, it hurts behind my eyes, so I think I got some bug...

(By the way, I have just heard on the news that at a school in Budapest more than 100 kids got the swine flu as soon as school began  )

Can my has a bed too...or at least a wheel chair...and a teddy to hug. Hospitals scare me *shudders* I kinda crippled myself yesterday. My sister invited me to go to town with her (which was brilliant) but I couldn't find any socks. So I just put my new rocks on, planning to get some socks from Primark. Well we arrived at exactly the same time (She travelling by tram, my walking, so it waas only like a 15 minute walk!) and when I got there my heels were bleeding!

Lemme explain my new rocks, they were a very big, very heavy black leather boot with purple leather flames stitchesd over the toes and across the heel...the stitching is like metal it's that strong, and it's basically taken the skin off the backs of my heels...mainly on my left foot.

Sorry to hear there's so many poorly people here, and Agi...WOW That's a lot of sick kids, I do hope your schools getting by without too large an incident.

Auntie Serinde is here with the tea trolley. Also lots of pain relievers and cake. :cake: and chocolate, of course. :choc:

@mumof3: make sure that DVT is elevated and you have your medication right next to you in the little plastic containers with the Days of the Week on it. (My DH is also at hand to run errands and fix hot water bottles: he's concerned over your DVT, isn't that cute.)

Agi, into bed with you over in this section with the low lights and away from the heaters. You have flu, from the sounds of it. Lovely cool water in the jug, just there, and a yellow bendy straw.

Angel, young people these days! *puts compeed on Angel's heels* Here's your teddy, and you can sit in your wheelchair in the commonroom with your feet up on a fat squashy pillow. Are you going to stitch or read or listen to the radio or watch a movie? Here's the remote; and all your favs are available (this being rather like the Stash & Grab, which, by the way, is through those oak doors to the left...)

No need to fear at St Cross Stitchers!

*bustles around making sure everyone is comfortable*

Anyone for chicken soup or bacon butties (or both...)?

*looks guilty* Fankoo Aunty Serinde *snuggles her teddy* Angels gonna stitch like a big brave girl while her legs heal! I was going to go down to Tesco and get something to drink, but the thought of putting shoes on...why I came over all faint :P

Could be worse though. Ask me one day about my race for life conquest! Now that really will have you shaking your head at me.

Ooooh fankoo ^_^ Angel will be happy of virtually anything to drink that's not tap water (That's all I have...well...the buns and piggies have carrot extract for their water, but it's not really good for me)
