Sounds like the perfect fabric for the Angel, I remember seeing that shade and liking it very much. The Mayflower one would be a lovely gift to your grandfather!

I have spent ALL AFTERNOON sewing on about 40 names tags to the kids' uniforms and my fingers are sore! :(

BUT I had a lovely hour this am putting both pieces of fabric onto frames and playing with the threads :D , so now I am going to start with ... the sampler tonight (I want to do the Angel but I'm too tired to concentrate on that!)

Pics soon, promise. :camera:

A bit late but I love the Nora Corbett pic, it looks lovely in that frame, looking forward to seeing your new stitching but don't get chocolate over it. I just might have to check out N Corbett :thinks:

Ok, first pictures of the Angel of Hope!! Not much to see, but it's a start and hopefully gives an idea of how it is going to look on the dyed linen.

Image

I like the effect. The linen is quite a loose weave and pleasant to stitch on.
Below is the Mayflower Landing sampler. This is a nice easy stitch and a good companion to the Angel.

Image

As you can see the linen has already distorted, but that's probably my inept stitching it onto the frame. I'm sure it'll be fine pulled into shape when completed. The Crescent Colours add a nice homespun touch - you can see the gentle variegation in the heart particularly.

Thought I'd post a couple of update pics to shame myself into doing more stitching next week!! I completely lost the 'bug' last week, I was absolutely shattered every evening, don't know if I had a virus or something, but just didn't fancy picking any stitching up at all.

So, not great progress ...

Wow, that fabric is beautiful! And it will look really great with the angel.
Your sampler looks like it's a lot of fun to stitch. I hope the fabric starts to behave! :) Good job so far!!
