Gah. Was ill all weekend so just didn't have the brain power to count. Managed to do a bit today but I'm now way behind as I'd planned to stitch all weekend and couldn't :(

Feeling better now and will be back at work tomorrow but so annoyed at colleague who gave me the cold!

So a day late, and not much progress sadly.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly and didn't feel like stitching! Colds are the worst for it, aren't they? I find if you have your head bent over your project you either get stuffed up and can't breathe or the nose streams.

Your swans are coming along lovely though - nice to see the other birds appearing as well. :applesauce:

And I like the Flower Fairy too, have a big weakness for them ... :applesauce:

Thanks!

I hated flower fairies for ages. I thought they were twee and just awful. Then I happened to see an exhibition of CMB's original artwork and was totally blown away. The one thing they aren't is twee.

Sadly these days the original books get bought up and then separated out into different pages as they can make more money selling lots of prints than they can an entire book.

Yes. It's annoying when you plan to do stitching and then you get too ill to bother. That happens to me sometimes. It's a really lovely design with lots of beautiful colours. :applesauce:

Righto, a good update this week. Seemed to get lots done (well it was mostly half cross) and (drumroll) I have finished the water in this half of the picture! No more 167, 168 and 169 for ages!

I am also now officially half way through!! Which is a trifle worrying as it's taken 5 months to get this far and I have 3 months to do the other half....

Anyway, picture time!

Image

Just started the bushes in the top half.

The small swans aren't finished and aren't very clear yet, but they're slightly better in the close up:
