Vonnie & Hilda x-stitch

Post by TreasureBin »

Hello everyone.

I'm into all kinds of crafts and have been meaning to join a cross-stitch forum for ages. I checked a few out this week, and thought this was one was the nicest, so here I am! :applesauce:

I'm going to start by asking for a favour, if that's all right. I have a couple of Vonnie & Hilda cross-stitch kits but am missing a page from one of them - it's page 7 of the Ariadne chart. I've searched everywhere but can't find any contact details for that company so I guess they've gone out of business.

Can anyone help me? :thinks:

I'm sorry I can't be of help, I've never heard of them before. Still...if anyone can help it'll be someone from this forum ^_^

I'm glad you chose to join us, we are by far the best. A lot of us are registered on different cross stitch forums, but this is well and truely our home.

Hi an d welcome to the forum. :wavesback:

I must admit that I've never heard of them either. I did a Google search which took me to a couple of sites that used to stock this range of designs but unfortuantely, they don't seem to stock them any more. Sorry I couldn't be more help. :( But I'm sure that someone here will be able to help. :x:

Hello and welcome -- you're right, this is such a friendly and welcoming forum, by far the best!

You mentioning Ariadne got me thinking, I used to get that magazine whe I was back in The Netherlands, are you either there or in Germany? I don't think the magazine is known here or in the US. Anyway, I was thinking perhaps you could contact them, because magazines often have back issues or at the very least their own copies which they may be willing to help you out with.

Good luck!

Thanks, everyone, for your replies.

Vonnie & Hilda were an English company doing a range of fairy kits and each fairy had a different name. The chart I'm looking for was for a fairy called Ariadne.
I think the designs were all handpainted by one of the ladies and other one converted them to cross-stitch. They were excellent quality and you could tell by the picture what kind of personality each fairy had! Shame they can't be got anymore.

Hi all
I'm another newbie that stumbled across this forum by googling 'Vonnie and Hilda'. I loved this company and was absolutely gutted when they disappeared. Have managed to pick up a few kits since on eBay and through swapping patterns with another V&H fan. So far I have completed Maeve, Tansy, Birfrost, Circe, Ariadne and currently sticthing Hesta.

Anyway to answer the OP I do have the pattern for Ariadne but I colour in the pages as I go  I may still have the large 'whole' pattern which you are welcome to have if its any use? I will have a dig about at home later and let you know.

Am looking forward to posting on the forum - am obsessed with x stitching and do mine every night :D

Hi SparkleKate

I would be very grateful for whatever help you can give me.

By the way, LOVE Sorrento! I have fond memories of an ice-cream shop there that had a 3-inch thick menu ...
