Lessa, I like your idea of blending -- it would make it "same but different"

Well I've been playing around with lettering again and I think tent stitch will be OK, as most of the thin (one-stitch wide) lines are in a ////// direction so they'll line up nicely as that's the way I do my tent stitches!
I was concerned as in the middle of a big area of black, I tested what various curves and things would look like, and ones going "backwards" (top right to bottom left) looked a bit gappy with my tent stitches, as so -

But most of them are left-right upward curves...

...so they'll look smoother :D I've actually been plotting them out myself on squared paper, as although the chart gives you the letters, it's another thing to actually work out how to join them up!!

For some reason, the lines didn't line up as I'd done them in the edit  but hopefully you get the idea anyhow! In short, I'm going to do tent stitch for the lettering :) In the meantime here is another photo....

Thanks all! I have a big chunk of black to fill in tonight, and then there'll just be 7 pages left  Looking forward to doing the lettering too even though it does mean I've given myself a couple extra hours work to do! I'll most likely start on that once I get to the centre of the design (I think the centre is marked, if not I know it's when I get to 250 stitches across), so I don't have to think that's still to do at the end...

Eventually you're all going to have to start shouting and :poke: me to keep me going!! :)

@rotfl: Well Mabel, you'll be pleased to know I did approx 600 stitches of black last night to finish the page. Most likely the lettering will start on the page I'm on now, but I have to wait until I get halfway across to make sure it's centred right!
