Don't envy you doing the squashed stitches but it's looking really effective along the front of the ship!

Looks great! I haven't actually attempted a project with squashed stitches, but I think it would be fun. At least for a bit.

Re: Sarah's HMS Victory
I'm not minding doing the squashed stitches actually, they make it a bit different from the usual. They're mostly just in the hull of the ship.
It's the fractional stitches in the sea I'm not liking, I've never been very good at getting them perfect, even with the help of evenweave's useful extra hole in the middle.

Linda, squashed stitches are not square but rectangular, and take up the space of half a cross stitch -- so you can have to vertical ones or two horizontal ones making up a whole square.

Sarah, don't you find it hard or confusing doing two projects in tent stitch and one in full cross stitch at the same time. I know the only times I have done little projects that have had tent stitch in my brain keeps making me complete the stitches and I find I end up having to unpick the top stitch!
Love the victory.

Re: Sarah's HMS Victory
Thanks for the diagram, Mabel, I might have been able to explain the squashed stitches after a fashion, but it's much easier to actually see them.
As for my different projects - 2 HAEDs in tent stitch and then HMS Victory and Trojan in full crosses - I haven't really had any trouble going from one to the other. Each time I swop to a different one I seem to focus on that one and forget the others. The only thing I do find odd is when I've gone from stitching over 1 on 25 count to suddenly working on 14 count as the latter seems enormous. Then I go back to the 25 count and feel like I need binoculars!

Re: Sarah's HMS Victory
Update time! This is the first page of the cross stitch completed. There's loads of backstitch and long stitch to do, but I'm leaving that until last.
