Feel stupid asking but here goes . . .
Is it my imagination or is light coloured fabric hard on the eyes? I have only got as far as putting a grid on my off white aida and mann I can feel the strain on my eyes. Just wondering if blues or greys or burlap coloured aida would be less of a stain.

I have no problem with my cream colored Aida and find it no different than the blue hand dyed I have been using. I find the angle at which I keep my frame makes a difference as far as the glare on the chart. I have it attached to the frame with a bull dog clip.

Granny: Good point about the angle, perhaps I just have extra sensitive eyes. I am going to look into using a different colour my eyes just can't take it.
coffe_freak: Glad to know it is not entirely my imagination.
Thank you both!
