Hello

Post by Stitch »

I just stumbled across this place last night and I already love the wealth of information available here. Unfortunately this site also led me to finding out about HAED, and being a poor college student, that could lead to disaster.

I'm 25 and fairly new to stitching. I tried it a few years ago, but I overwhelmed myself by buying many more kits than I could finish and only managed to finish two of the smallest ones. After that I gave up the hobby, but recently picked it up once more and am making good progress on my first piece. I will try to take a picture or two of my WIP if I can.

I hope to get to know you all. :)

Welcome to the forum! We ARE very enabling, especially with HAEDs . . . but we have lots of fun and like to encourage everyone. Lots of tips and tricks too, so feel free to ask questions. :)

Hi hi hi
My college years were the longest time I spent not stitching.. no money, no time and so many other "hobbies". Happy to see you here, hope you enjoy yourself. This place is full of all sorts of tips and tricks whenever you reach a stumbling block.

What are you studying?

Hi and welcome to the forum! The good thing about HAED's is that once you buy the supplies, it'll probably take you awhile before finishing and so you save money by not having to buy any more supplies...but then again, HAED's are addictive and it's really hard to stop at only one!

Thank you for all the replies. :)

I'm studying Information Technology, and once I graduate I hope to become a Database Administrator. I still have two more years to go but hopefully this hobby will help pass the time, when I'm not studying of course.

And I agree that the HAED charts look very time-consuming. However, I was very happy to find one of my all-time favorite artists on the site, so now I'm dying to begin one of her pieces, and it will be hard to resist not buying all of her charts even without the money to spend on it.

Oh which artist?

I'm a big fan of Marta Dahlig, Julie Fain, and Melissa Dawn...but I do have a few other charts by some of the other artist on there!

My favorite artist on there is Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. I've been a fan of her paintings for years, so I was excited to see designs for her artwork available. :)
