Oh I swear, I could actually kill their father for what he's done to them. I don't know the full extent of it, but in deciding custody they had a therapist come over and asses the children. She made them draw their family this was about two...three years ago? So Charlotte was about 5 or 6 and Izzy was a little younger. They both drew their mum their sisters and themselves. The lady told them that they had to draw their daddy and they both refused to. Eventually one of them drew a very small black blob on the corner furthest away from everyone else and the other just started crying and screaming that she didn't have a daddy! When I heard that I was sooooooo furious! I really did want to make my way over there and beat him to death. But he managed to keep Milli for between 1 and 2 years. So when Sue got her back, we weren't really surprised that she barely left her mums side. She wouldn't play with other children, she wouldn't go anywhere near adults, she didn't talk, she wasn't potty trained (at 3!) she was...a ghost. Just a little ghost of a girl. And I wound up going home and crying for her. It was just so horrible! Their dad wound up with another woman who had two children while he still had millii...apparently he gave them all three girls toys and their beds and milli had to sleep on the floor.
I really hate him, and if I ever do see him again, I will not be held responsible for my actions. I always got a bad vibe from him, and I tried to warn the family. But I took no delight in being right. I wished I had been wrong. So to suddenly have her open up to me like that? There really are no words.
Unfortunately, they live out in Rotherham so I don't see them much as I don't drive, but they're always in my thoughts and heart.
@Mae
Yeah, I almost slapped my sister at one point yesterday. Milli kept darting in and hugging me, but darting back out when my sister asked for a hug, or spoke to her. So what did she do? Only tackled her for one!

She never did get Milli to hug her, even at the end of the night when everyone was playing tig (she was playing with other children!) she gave my sister a very wide birth and barely spoke to her. That's never a good way to get a child to warm to you, certainly not one that's been as traumatized as poor Milli.
Oh she was also brave enough to tease me to! She'd been eating chocolate cupcakes, and like most five year olds had chocolate around her mouth, so I called her chocolate face. And she laughed and called me chocolate face too. I'm not entirely sure she knows my name to be honest, she certainly never used it and I didn't want to point it out in case it made her feel bad. I know I hate it when people realize I have no idea what their name is >_< So I was quite happy for her to call me chocolate face ^_^
