I can understand not wanting to buy via the internet, but it can be done safely. You wil find that many of us have favourite internet sellers who we recommend and use regularly. It must be hard with nowhere local to purchase threads from.

Good luck in finding what you need.

With that many colors and them not being discontinued it should be easy to find them on the internet...
there is 123 stitch.....nordic needle...and sew and so....they are all online stores...then michaels and joannes all are online and they are all well known stores....so they are safe online...a lot of them also use sites called paypal...have you heard of paypal...its a site that stores your information...and they are like the middle man...a very well known site...and the store or site you are buying from never get your personal information...only paypal...all that i can understand is its almost like paypal pays the store and you pay paypal....all transactions are secured...in fact...last year my stepmom ordered something of ebay for my dad....it did not show up in the mail...they contacted paypal...and payal and ebay investigated and refunded the money...a few weeks later...the item showed up with a letter from the sender apologizing for the delay..apparently a sick member in the family delayed the sending of the item...my stepmom then contacted paypal to have them take their money back that they had refunded....and also pull away any bad "feedback" the sender my have received d/t the item not showing up...so...there are lots of ways to shop safely online!!

Cross stitchers are very funny about their "stashes" LOL and while not being greedy at all...sending someone that much floss...takes away from you stash LoL :) if the colors were discontinued....or if you were wanting to trade different colors back and fourth thats one thing...but for a cross stitcher to part with any of their dear stash anytime...is a big act of kindness and friendship!! Part of cross stitching is the collecting of the stash!!

I understand about the stash thing. I just needed those colors so I can make my mom a cross stitch espically for her. I wanted to show her some love. Any color even one would be so very greatly appreciated. And if anyone would need a specific color and I had it, I would return the favor.

You could also get a Floss mom and then you could ask them to shop for you and work out payment in whatever way the two of you choose to work it out.

I am a Floss mom for 3 nieces as they do not live in the states so they can not get there own supplies at a resonable price. I know there are some ladies that are more then happy to do the shopping as so it works well. I can't at this time, sorry.

Whilst I understand totally that you want to make your mum something special to say how much you think of her I am sure that she will not expect you to go to all that expense and trouble to complete it for her. She would get as much if not more pleasure from you saying what you think of her either speaking to her directly or writing it down, especially if it is written as she can take it out and read it often. Presents are not always necessary, words can be far more expressive and treasured.

Cross stitching can be a pretty costly hobby....its not the cost itself..but when you are starting your "stash" it can be a lot to buy....as someone...i think it was rose...pointed out it is not expensive per...hour you work on it...but the threads...fabrics...patterns...can get quite costly...esp if you are just starting out...I have only been doing this since last december...and have spent a lot of money on it....so much that im having to stop for now...lol...and a lot of my stash was gifted to my from my family for christmas..in fact my dad had a friend who happened to be starting crochetting and leaving cross stitching...they bought a lot of her stuff second hand...so...even there...my dad said you know..i thought ---- was asking a lot for her stuff until i went to the craft store and realized how much money goes into the supplies needed...

I agree...though..writing words can mean as much as actually making somehting...or look into some cheaper...ideas...

AT walmart once I got a picture frame it was made out of the type of material they do...photo mattes with..sorta canvasy...it was black....i put a pic of my hubby and i in it and wrote down love quotes for V-day..you could do this... but with mom quotes...i think the frame was like 4 dollars...and then i got a silver sharpie to write on it with...

or they have those reinforced cardboard boxes.....make a collage out of magazines with items that remind you of your mom and then on the the inside write little notes, quotes or memories....

there are all kinds of things that are a little less expensive that can mean just as much....but what matters the most...is the thought....I know my family has done a bunch of cds from music that we already have..and put down fav songs...and then write why you choose each song...this can be hard though if you don't have a lot of music already on hand..

I wonder if you can use the threads you already have to make something.....you don't have to use the suggested colours for most things.

What pattern are you hoping to do for your mom, and what cross stitch have you already done? We'd love to see your work.

I'm sorry, I can understand if you feel a bit insulted by our comments... but I HAVE TO SAY THIS! Aren't you getting them through the internet by asking us on this forum? I would personally prefer to go through a company I could verify stuff with, than trust to give my address to someone on the internet.. With that said, I feel a bit bad.. I will check my extra stash of floss and see if I have any of them colors. I'll PM you if I have any of the colors you need.

I am making a Tinkerbell Spring Blossoms one, and that is why I needed those specific colors. Yes writing her something would be great but I have done that too many times. I just wanted to do something different.

I know it's really difficult to build up to get all the colours and I will have a look to see if I have any extras that you need, I will pm you if I find any.

How long have you been stitching? I just looked in your gallery and saw Blue Dragon, is it cross stitch or another art form? it's beautiful
