Flying Eagle *Custom* ~April 11, 2010~

Post by DraconicWench »

Okay, I'm starting it when I wake up but I'm setting this thread up now because, honestly, the pattern is a humongous thing and I'm going to try for daily updates to keep myself working on it and not getting stitcher ADD. You're all welcome to poke along with a needle.

This picture:

became this:

Eagle will end up 17" x 13" on 18 ct. Sudden Storm Aida. After seeing the color of the fabric, I don't think it'll look right if I darken anything. It's a whole lot lighter on Aida as opposed to linen. I can always change my mind later if I decide I don't like the look.

So, my goal is to have at least something to show by 11 PM tonight (Monday). Wish me luck!

Gack! Things did not work out as planned. I have started him though, just not until today. This is what happens when you try to organize more than one project so you have some waiting. You miss thread and then have to hunt some down. 3 craft stores later, I got all of the thread I need for Eagle.

I have a lo-o-o-ong way to go. As of this moment, I have about 55 stitches into him and while I know the finished product will look just like him (that site is good like that), using light tan on a dark bay horse seems so wrong.

Here's my (tiny) progress:
Image

The fabric is really light. I took a picture with the flash, hoping to catch the variation in color. This is the best I came up with.

I'm getting there. 201 stitches of confetti. *falls over*

The close up shows the different colors. I apologize for the blur. My medication makes my hands shake.

Eagle's belly is coming along well. Next stop, hind leg hopefully.
