My few finishes from 2009

Post by Raven »

I'm not sure what the last WIP pics were that I posted here, so I figured I'd quickly post pics of the few pieces I finished last year. You guys saw the cow and the blackwork winter finishes I believe.

Miribilia's Crescent Dreams for my niece Bridgette's birth sampler. I had to change the colors on the blanket and hat so they'd be pink, rather than blue with a few pink stitches as the chart called for.

Image

Fairy freebie that I did for an old friend's quilt. I didn't get a pic of the second square I did for another quilt.

But that's it.

Both are wonderful :applesauce: The birth sampler is so sweet  I especially like the little added pieces on it. Are they beads? I know there's a name for them, but I can't think of it now.

Thank you Maggs and Pam.

There are beads and treasures on it. The beads go in a kind of line from the tip of the hat, they are also in little clusters of 4 in a cross shape around the baby. There is a star charm at the end of the line from the hat, and one hanging at the edge of the blanket (left side) where it meets the moon. There is a teardrop shape "diamond" hanging from the tip of the moon.

The original chart called for silk ribbon draped from baby's hands to blanket edge and I put it in but I thought it overwhelmed the stitching so I removed it and put the stars in the other spots instead of hanging at the end of the ribbons.
