I love these designs my mum has one of two girls and a boy that reminded her of me and my sister and brother so stitched it for herself and I know we are going to fight over it when the time comes to divide the possessions up! Unless we can convince her to stitch two more times!
I agree that a great quote Penngwen and Rose you should stitch one for yourself too I'll bet your sisters would agree!!

That looks realy nice Rose, I think doing it on blue is adding a different dimension.

Yes Mabel I would call it railing.
I thought that since I have updated my signature that it would be nice to give you a picture update. I am not sure if my % number is acturate it is just my guess as to what more I have not marked on the working copy.

Looking great.
I like this design. It sorta reminds me of the Railway Children, by, I think E Nesbit. They wore the same sort of clothes.
