Woodland Enchantress

Post by BluKat »

Has anyone ever completed Woodland Enchantress. Dimensions Gold Collection? How did you find it? I am dissapointed in the quality of the thread. It loses little fluff balls all the time and frays and splits at the ends. I don't know what brand the thread is as they use their own. If I run out I'll need to contact them.

I'm pretty sure that Becca on the forum here has completed this picture. Hopefully she can let you know what her experience with it was like. It is a beautiful design! I do a lot of Dimensions kits, and sometimes I substitute their floss for DMC. It's the exact same color and the quality would maybe be better for you.

I just did a search on here for Woodland Enchantress and I see dollystitcher is also working on it. Maybe she or Becca can help you out.

Yes, Becca did do this, and there was an SAL, which you can probably dig out from the depths. I have it as an HAED, but haven't begun it yet.

I haven't done Woodland Enchantress (yet, I have it in my stash) but I completed another Gold Collection kit earlier this year and found that using Thread Heaven really helped stop the floss freying.

I did find that for all but one of the colours they provided lots of extra floss so hopefuly you won't run out. I was lucky when I ran out I was on the backstitching so could replace it with DMC without it noticing.

Hi Cheyenne Pony

Thanks for the info I will try and see if I can find Enchantress from the SAL.
I am enjoying it, it the colours are lovely. If I ever did it again I would do it all using 2 strands. There are so many variations in strands for this kit. Some stitches are 3, some are 4 and some 5 etc. Plus combined colours. It gives a lovely texture but time consuming, I will try and upload a pic soon.
but so want to start one of the 5 kits I just got on ebay this week. I managed to get all 5 of the Celtic season kits.

I'm working on a Dimensions Gold kit (Lost No More) and lost some of the thread to it. I was able to email them online. I gave them the kit name & number, the color name & number, and how many strands I needed. Replacement floss arrived the following week I believe. I was very pleased with the speed of their service, but it would have been nice to receive confirmation that the email was addressed. I never heard back from them, just had the floss arrive in the mail.

I am about half way through Woodland Enchantress and I have had no problems at all. However I do use thread heaven so maybe that is the difference? :?
I have completed other dimensions kits in the past and have always had sufficient thread to complete. However on one project I did lose a shien of thread when one of the cat's got it and I replaced it with DMC which is, as pamelam say's, exactly the same colour. Hope this helps?

Hi, sorry i've been busy moving house and only just got my internet back.

Yes I have done the Woodland Enchantress kit. I don't remember having any problems with the quality of the thread although I did find that there wasn't enough of a couple of the colours. The kit wasn't the easiest to do but it was worth it. Here is a link to my review of it: http://www.beccasxstitch.com/?p=64" target="_blank

Just a thought, because I am working on another Dimensions Gold Kit...I noticed the floss fibers don't really hold up that well and the pale yellow especially has a tendency to break in the middle of a stitch...not to mention the breakdown if you have to do any frogging...but what has helped for me was using beeswax...it worked WONDERS...also you could use "Thread Heaven", but beeswax was easier for me to get a hold of and by far cheaper...
I also have this kit, but I haven't started on it yet...good luck!
