I'd like to join in for August!! I want to post this now so I'll feel I have to do some work on my 'Chat Noir' which Wandatoo reminded me about!! It's a computer generated chart I made and it is confetti hell .. plus it's on 28ct something and the old eyes are not what they used to be.

I've always loved this poster but decided to do it after discovering that our local major town (Angouleme) has a café called 'Le Chat Noir' and they make the most wonderful Hot Chocolate you have ever tasted!! :D

Here's where I've got to now.

I would really like to cross my Trio of Bears off my list (I only have backstitching to do, which I hate) so somebody poke me next week to get it done. Maybe if I can finish it I won't feel so guilty about all the other projects I've added recently.

I have been thinking about which of my UFO's to do for this round. I was thinking originally of doing some of my afghan, but I think I will do Celtic Christmas instead. Of all my UFO's, she is the closest to being finished. All she has left is mostly the metallics and beading round the bottom of her skirt, but I fall out with metallics very quickly, which is why she became a UFO in the first place

Not this month, I am sorry. I have a birthday in front of me, and some more gifts to make.

Finished off my tree skirt and now with all of the Christmas gifts I have to make I am devoting all my time finishing gifts on time. So no UFO's for awhile.

Well, I dug out Celtic Christmas and have stitching away merrily this afternoon, and am looking forward to doing some more on her tonight. I am working on the bottom of the skirt, which is where most of the detail is. But whereas previously I worked with her in hand, I now have her on a scroll frame in my floor stand, and can work much more easily with my magnifier and 2 free hands :D I don't think I'll finish her this week, as once I have plowed through all the detail and mountains of metallics, there is a fair amount of beading to be done also. However, I may get so close to finishing that I won't be able to bear putting her away again

Argh...frog, frog, froggity frog.... :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog:

I think my major achievement in this round of UFO week may be to rectify the huge mistake I have just discovered in the hem of my CC.

I am working on 2 for UFO's week because I have a buddy system to help me stitch at least 100 stitches or a block on my HAED per day and "Kokopelli Christmas" is almost done. I am doing backstitching and a couple of kokopelli left to do.

I debated joining this month as I am almost finished with the cross stitch on my WIP. I am finishing up the boarder. But the UFO got the better of me since I started it about 7 years ago and it has been my waiting room project. Since starting school I do that in the waiting room now instead. Here is a pic of where I start the week at...

I sat down yesterday to start back on 'Le Chat Noir' and was shocked to discover just how badly I'd neglected it!!

I spent the whole afternoon looking for all the flosses I'd 'pinched' from it for other projects and then spent 3 hours swapping the remaining threads from old tatty floss cards onto nice new bobbins. By the time I'd finished I was knackered and didn't do a stitch .... but about to go and launch myself into it, with gusto!! :D

I pulled out my balloons to work on them yesterday not realizing that it was the first of the month. I guess I need to find where I put my bear project, find the threads I need (nixed for other projects) and get it finished.

I dug out the HUG cushion this week and have managed to extend the border to cover the next letter and have now started on the outline of the U. There has been a bit of frogging though, keep counting wrong, but if I have the outline done by the 7th I'll be happy. You'll get a pic at the end of the week :)

I finished the backstitching on the white bear but somehow in the process I pulled up a stitch to the top side in the bears legs (I guess I didn't secure the thread enough) so now I've got to fix that before I move on. I swear this project hates me.

I hate when I do that. I did it just last week too, was stitching along filling in confetti when I went to put in a stitch where I thought I was close to...I wasn't, at least I hadn't anchored yet.
