Hi,

OMG this is THE most amazing cross stitch i have ever seen :applesauce:

I really hope you don't mind but can i ask a few questions? After seeing your work i had to finally look up the mysterious HAED i saw popping up in posts and i am so tempted to try this design but i don't know enough to dare try.

Firstly, are they hugely difficult to do? i.e. lots of different stitches etc. Also does the design end up larger working on 18 ct? - it's the highest count i have worked on and i wouldn't know where to start with eavenweave or linen

Any other advice you may be willing to throw my way would be fantastic. I really hope hope you don't mind a relative newbie picking your very talented brain (creep, grovel

I keep coming back to look at her so i think it's something i just have to try!!
Thanks for reading x Carol

Hi Carol,
HAED's are no harder than other cross stitch and don't have lots of different stitches. The Wrath I am doing is all full cross stitches (no back stitch) but some people on here prefer to do tent stitch, it depends on your preference.
The only thing with HAED's is that they take a long time to finish so you need a lot of patience. I have a couple of easier projects I do in my rotation as well so I don't get bored of doing the same design for too long. They do have a lot of colour changes in places but that is what gives them the detail.
Using 18ct does make them a bit bigger but that is what I am using so it just means you will use a few more threads than they list.
So if you have the patience and determination to complete one then you should go for it! We all love to watch them on here and just think how proud you would be of your finished piece! :D

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you sooo much for your quick reply! That was just what i was hoping to hear :D :D Patience i have by the bucketful, it's the fancy stitches that put me off so i am so thrilled to hear it's all full cross stitch, i love making each little cross and watching the image develop so it sounds perfect, although definitely a challenge! It's the back stitch, lazy daisies etc that annoy me  I have just finished a nice vervaco design of a mare and foal that had no fractional stitches and i hated to finish it because it was all cross stitich even though the fact it was 14 ct bugged me cos it felt too big lol.

Thanks so much for your help, you're a star :applesauce:
