A shameless attempt to make everyone jealous! (:shame:)

Post by Kute Kitty »

I've been doing entirely too much trawling of ebay recently.

This has led me to such wonderful wins as this lovely bundle and this mindblowing amount, but it has also led me to have less in my bank account than I'd really like to have in there.

I'm going to pick up this lovely big win which I really just want to show off again tomorrow, I hope. After that though I'll have so much stash that I'm going to try to keep away from ebay for the rest of the month.

Damn me and my inability to resist a bargain.

Stop giving yourself such a hard time and pat yourself on the back instead. You have managed to buy an amazing amount of stash for a relatively small outlay. Well done you!!!!

I'm very good about threads, only buy what I actually need for a project (and only then when I'm setting up to start the project, not when I first see it and think it's a good idea because I found out the hard way that I waste money that way!) but magazines and storage boxes in particular I find endlessly fascinating and find it very hard to say no to. The enablers on here aren't helping of course! ;) I'm concerned about it because I've also spent a decent amount of money lately on my outfit for a wedding which my ex-husband is also going to be at (so I had to spend that bit more to look that bit more wonderful, I'm sure people understand) and also for the wedding we're going to have to stay in a hotel for a couple of nights because it's so far away, and then there are those rings I'm going to be buying soon for The Big Event in November, so it just seems like every time I turn around I'm spending money and really this is money I could've avoided spending if I'd really wanted to.

On the other hand, I never thought I'd win either of these, I got a good price on both of them, so I'm happy I got such a bargain, and my ebay trawling did help me find a bargain buy for a couple of friends who managed to get 10 magazines for £1, so my conscience, on consideration, is mostly clear :)

those are wonderful bargains and just remember you can always sell anything you dont want so dont feel bad about spending the money. Sometimes I do that, put the first bid in and if i won..great and if not i dont bid further if i get outbid.

I have won a few bargains myself in the past on ebay and stash deserves a loving home.

I just got 90 DMC threads (assorted colours) for £5.99 - daft person selling had the auction ending at 2 am! I just stuck in a speculative bid.

Problem was, I then had a look and also got some rayon threads and some silk threads for a good price, some black aida and some floss boxes.

And just this morning my dad made a snarky comment about having enough threads to last me a lifetime already......(I live with my folks do to health reasons, and money is tight yet I find winding bobbins very theraputic and when I feel sad I buy!!)

Bad bad me!!

Wohoooo...! That's surely a wonderful bargain!! :applesauce:

One thing I always feel afraid from online shopping is... the shipping fee. Sometimes it's so expensive to ship here, and the fee might be higher than the goods..!

Well, having picked up the veritable mountain of stash from Nottingham this evening, I am no longer feeling remotely guilty. I got up there and the lady said "Oh yes I threw in a couple of other bits I found as well, hope you don't mind." Mind? MIND? You're giving me more stash, for free, and you're asking if I MIND? I drove up with a friend who's staying with us briefly, because she'd had a bad day and wanted the company, so we got to talk a lot and become better acquainted (she's the girlfriend of one of the guys my OH plays D&D with and until this week I'd met her for a cumulative total of 3 hours) and now we're planning all sorts of silly adventures like going to Wales (where she's from) to buy corsets from someone she was in school with who makes them.

Anyway, I got distracted there.

Got the box home and started unpacking it to see what was actually in there and how much of a bargain I'd really got and what can I say except...stashgasm. There are some magazines I've already seen, so those will be going back on ebay, and one of the books I've actually already got, so that'll probably end up on ebay too, but other than that there are threads, there are fabrics, there are lovely keyrings, there are bobbins that I can never get enough of, there are kits, there are magazines and books I'd never seen before, there are lots and lots of needles which I'm going to have to be careful about sorting out, and if anyone wants me I'll be over there, possibly buried under Stash Mountain. Just leave me to it, I'll be fine.

Your bargains are awesome!! I am sure we have all been there, great bargain and you really shouldn't but just can't resist.
You know for sure it was meant to be the fact that you got more that what you bargained for!! As well as you will have plenty to keep your hands busy after the wedding planning is over ;-)

What a score!

yes, UK ebay is stash heaven and postage costs ruin it most of the time :x :(

the price of postage has really cut back my on line spending. I used to average a parcel a week, now it''s more like every 6 weeks
