Another start ... this one is going to be a Christmas present for my brother. I thought he'd appreciate a "Family Tree Heirloom" stitched by little ol' me.

The design is by Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks.

I'm stitching it on 18ct ivory Davosa evenweave with hand-dyed silk.

I can't put this one down!! It's such a joy to stitch. :)

I'm still loving the subtly of the silks. I think I'm going to have to stitch this again one day for me!

Great progress and glad you like working with the silk so much. Could I ask what brand it is?

Mabel - The silks are hand-dyedfibres.com that I picked up at my LNS. They aren't as shiny as some silks I've seen, but they are deliciously soft and supple.

Thanks for the info Trylla, I like Vikki Clayton's silks (they're a lot like Carrie's Creation silks which I also like using); as you say not as shiny as some, but nice and subtle and good to work with.
