It's looking amazing. I must admit that I wasn't sure about the red fabric at first but...how wrong was I????? It's perfect.

I wasn't sure about the colour to begin with either, and when I started stitching, I was kind of regretting offering her the choice of blue or red, instead of just doing it on the blue, but I have to admit, the colour has really grown on me - it makes the stitching really pop!

I would also love to see it stitched on hand-dyed fabric the colour of a sunset - I think that would look stunning!

I'll post another progress pic on Sunday night when I've done a bit more. I had to frog over 100 stitches last night because I had refused to admit to myself how tired I was and completely mis-stitched. I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, but then I'll have Friday,Saturday and Sunday nights to stitch this piece.

More progress made. Just got to finish off the base (which is about 2/3rds done), do the backstitching (which is comparatively little) and then chart and stitch the details.
