It is really soft, and has just come out of the tumble drier...oh it's so hard to give it away! Oh the other hand, I know it'll stand up to machine washing and drying so I'm happy about that. We don't know if Abi's having a boy or a girl but I think it's easier for a baby girl to wear blue, or have a blue blanket, than a little boy to have pink things. As far as possible I've stuck to neutral colours with her gifts (there are a few yellow things, a few green things, a few beige things) but in this case all I had was the blue blanket...I'm sure she'll be happy with it either way.

Today was Abi's last day at work, and I gave her the blanket - as well as everything else we'd bought for her (the baby bath was overflowing with gifts!) She was so pleased with it she was almost in tears. I'm so glad I took the time :) Another colleague also donated a couple of crotched blankets that her mum made. Abi is not always the most perceptive soul, so it was especially moving that she understood the sentiment behind the hand-crafted gifts.

ahhh what a lovely gift!! I love the blanket, even if she has a girl that is such a pretty neutral blue. Wishing your colleague a happy healthy birth.

The blanket is gorgeous, and I'm glad she realised the significance of the hand-crafted gifts.

I designed and stitched this today for a friend who's currently between homes and staying with us while she gets sorted out. She'll be on her way soon, she's sorted a room out that she can rent, but it's been a hard few weeks for her.

She loves it :) She asked me to keep hold of it for her until she gets moved in to this room so it doesn't get lost (she's moved several times lately so some of her things have just fallen in to a black hole) but hopefully she'll be moving next week or thereabouts so I'm going to get a nice frame for it today :)
