im stitching as pretty as a picture

Post by froganne »

hi all i been stitching as pretty as a picture fro a week or so now.its my first cross stitch in about 16yrs.im enjoying it as it takes my mind off everything and its is so rewarding to watch it develope.i got it from a mag a few weeks ago and i fell in love with the pic.i found cross stitching hard at first what with my thread getting taffled behind when i was pulling it through and all that.(very frustrating indeed!!) but now im seeing it getting bigger its helping me plod on through.i accually feel quite satisfied with the achievement so far not even half way through yet though....

Hi and Welcome from Melbourne Australia.

It helps when your threads get tangled to drop the needle down and let it unwind. I sometimes just hold it almost taut and just twist the needle in my fingers to get the "kinks" out of it.

Hope that helps.

Glad you have come back to cross stitching and your project sounds great. Which mag did you get it from please?

I have 2 projects on the go at the moment. My Aerosmith concert picture and a HAED called Wrath.
If you have a photobucket account you can use the link code to put your photos on the forum from there.

Hi "froganne " The project I have been taking with me on my child supervising days is a Country Companions Christmas one from Decembers Cross Stitch Crazy. Thankfully they fly out the Christmas issue of some mags so we get to see them earlier than the normal 2-3 months wait.

My main stitching project is from Country Threads and is an Australian scene of an old house in the hills - which they call mountains here. Its fairly simple, has no backstitching and is on 14 cnt so I should get it done in time for DS2 50th birthday on 1 August.

I have yet to work out how to post into a thread and hopefully with DS1 on holidays for the next 2 weeks I might be able to get him to sit down with me andwe can work it out. I do have a small showing in the Gallery though
