Mabel Figworthy wrote:The sampler has come out great, and the variegated one is so pretty -- is it a Tante's Zolder/My Aunt's Attic design?
Hi Mabel
The design is one that I got as a freebie online--it's a Debbie Draper design and is simply called Love--small enough to use as a test for the variegated threads and I'm currently stitching up another in a solid shade of red DMC 150 which is close to one of the variegated shades--hope to make into a scissors keep. Design is 36 by 36 and I've stitched it up on 16 ct aida.

Thanks for the info Karen -- thought it looked familiar, so with your information in mind I went through my folder of freebies and found that I've got it there !
So glad you've got it--it is simple enough yet very pretty! Love the freebies, there's always so much you can do with them. As for Tante's Zolder/My Aunt's Attic design do you have a link to that? One can never have enough charts on hand

Karen, it's a whole collection of charts, a lady who with the help of others charted lots of hand-drawn designs she found when clearing out her aunt's attic. The style is quite similar to yours, and there are lots of beautiful ones though you'll have to browse a bit. The lady is Dutch but the site is bi-lingual, you can find it here.
After seeing a couple of the brushstroke butterfly stitched up, I've begun on one, using Carrie's creations threads in Tropical rainstorm. Here's my progress so far
I'm stitching this up on 16 count very pale blue aida
