Small crocodile design

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

Some time ago I made a dolphin keyring for my cousin's little girl in Holland, and when her grandmother (my aunt) gave it to her, her younger brother had a good look at it and pronounced 'That's really nice. But I think I'd like mine to be a crocodile, please.'

Well, there you have it then, my next commission :-). Unfortunately, I have no crocodile charts, and it will have to be no more than a circle about 30 stitches in diameter (worked on 32ct over one, like the dolphin, that will just about fit). Does anyone know of a freebie that would fit the bill, or does anyone have a design I could borrow?

Oh, by the way, here's the dolphin:

I don't have any, but will have a look around. Perhaps someone else can help.

Although... I have a feeling that we might just "forget" , even if we do have a pattern, for the fun of watching you design :D :D :D

Have you checked out the Internet thread for freebies? You might find something there. Meantime, I'll have a look around, too.

Now Agi, that's just cruel, that is :-). It may have to come to that if I can't find anything, but I don't think I take naturally to designing crocodiles...

Thanks to you both for looking out for some!

I found one or two crocodile designs, but they are all far too large and detailed -- great for pictures to hang on the wall (if you like having a crocodile staring at you in the dining room :-)) but not really suitable for what I have in mind. Never mind, the quest continues!

Thought I might find one here, but sorry no crocodile. Lots of other small graphs for future reference though.

Those are great -- thanks Mags!

Really useful link there mags - I can see plenty of greeting card opportunities etc with those patterns :applesauce:

I think I'd like to do a mini project with a collection of the Sesame Street designs

Agi, that's a wonderful design! I'm afraid it's still a bit too big (no way am I going to get 55 stitches on 1 inch :-)) but I may use it as the basis for a smaller design -- Thanks!

I have a magazine with keyring size designs in it. Not sure if there is a crocodile in among them, but I'm going to have a look through.
